Well... The Soccer Season is back again. After the FIFA matches, the football fans wanted a refreshing round of their favourite game! With the teams clashing each other each action packed game is full of 90 minutes of PURE ENTERTAINMENT...

The 2008 UEFA European Football Championship, commonly referred to as Euro 2008, is currently taking place in Austria and Switzerland which started on 7 June 2008 and concludes on 29 June 2008.

My personal favourite player for the Season is Cristiano Roanldo...
He has already proved himself in this EPL season and will keep up the good work in EURO 2008 as well!!

Eye Care

Since most of us spend large amount of time working on the computer and internet, our eyes have to suffer a lot. i came across the following useful information which is sure to help in the relaxation of the eyes.
The following exercise was suggested by a specialist doctor in the US that he termed as 20-20-20." It is apt for all of us, who spend long hours at our desks, looking at the computer screen.
Step I
:-After every 20 minutes of looking into the computer screen, turn your head and try to look at any object placed at least 20 feet away. This changes the focal length of your eyes, a must-do for the tired eyes.
Step II
:- Try and blink your eyes for 20 times in succession, to moisten them.
Step III
:- Time permitting of course, one should walk 20 paces after every 20 minutes of sitting in one particular posture. Helps blood circulation for the entire body.

They say that your eyes r mirror of your soul, so do take care of them, they are priceless................

Board Exams

The end of winters doesn’t just signify the arrival of the spring season but it also demarcates the beginning of the prestigious board exams. I am reminded of the time when I was in my mid-teens and all set to give my class 10th board exams.
From the very beginning of the session strict advices would come pouring in about how to tackle the boards from relatives and acquaintances from all over. I had also pulled up my socks and was all set to face the boards. The time table was prepared and a strict study schedule was designed. But after one or two weeks the schedule used to get amended to introduce the so called relaxation time.
The study time went to a soaring height after the pre-board result (which was not so good). It was not just the exam pressure that had its toll on me but also the great expectation of parents and the appalling fact that this was the beginning of my career making year.
Lots of suggestions from all over the world seem to pour in everyday from one or the other of our relatives. Getting up early in the morning being the most common one. But frankly I never used to leave the bed before atleast 10 the morning. Relatives from all over used to call to give their best wishes and advices about what should be done and what not.
Under the heaps of advices and burden of scoring high in the exams finally the exam day arrived. The scenario at the exam center was not encouraging, and it only added to the already sky-soaring tension. Amidst all the stress and strain we finally entered the examination hall. Sitting there was no fun especially with faces around you doing last minute recalling of the facts. Finally the exam paper arrived, and to my relief it was no monster as my night-mares from past days had been suggesting. Neither was it form out of the blue. Now I was a little comforted. And the 3 hours of exam time were finally over. One by one all exams went fine.
Phew! I was so relieved the moment I stepped out of the exam center on the day of my last exam. It felt like loads and tons of burdens had been removed from my head.
However there was yet another thing that had to be tackled after the exams were over, and this was gigantic than the former. How to spend the holidays???

Childhood

I still remember my childhood days when we used to return home after long hours of play. Clothes drenched with dirt and mud, all worn out after hours of fun but still an expression of content used to linger on the face. A satisfaction of enjoying our childhood to the fullest would show on the face. In our early days we were not exposed to the so-called modern techno savvy world. Away from mobiles, laptops, internet, life was fun…

But the children today have different means of amusing themselves. They want to own a mobile even before passing out from the primary school, a laptop (PCs are just too boring!) as soon as they step into high school. One of my cousins in class V was asked to write a diary entry about how he celebrated his birthday. I was surprised (and somewhat in spills of laughter) after I read that he had been gifted a “Mercedes Benz Class A” by his parents on his birthday. The bicycle seems to have been replaced by luxurious car.

The children today are living in an era of technical revolution, the era of excellence.

Mediocre do not stand a chance anywhere. My mind is sometimes forced to ask the question-“is the child of today actually living his life as he should?’
Cut-throat competitions and an insatiable appetite for excelling in everything and the new technical inventions seem to have taken their toll on them. Nobody wants their child to be left behind in this era of cut-throat competition. Among all this the children today are being snatched of their most important right- “The right of being a child”, the right of enjoying their life with a carefree attitude. Today A child today gets up early in the morning, spends a tedious day at school and returns back only to be told attend the tuition class.
Hope when we hear next time that the children today are the future of tomorrow we don’t see our future diminishing under heaps and loads of work.
